The Characters That Raised Me

As a 70s and 80s kid and a certified book hound, I grew up reading anything and everything. We lived in a small town, so the days the Bookmobile was parked at the end of our street were the best ever. Beyond that, I had a library of well-read, much loved classics that I'd go back to again and again.
Fun Fact: I got D- in 3rd Grade Reading class because I was too busy reading everything besides the assigned books.
I've been thinking a lot about the characters who informed my worldview and (subtly or not) instilled their values into me throughout years of reading and rereading their stories. Some are good, some are not so good. I want to revisit the past, reread the books I loved, and analyze them from an adult perspective to see all the ways these characters helped to raise me and turn me into the person I am.
I plan to do a few concurrent TikTok videos with the main points, so if you want to follow along, join me at: authorjeanettelewis.
