Angel Gowns
January 2026
Angel Gowns are burial clothes for infants who have passed away either at birth or shortly after. The gowns are made by volunteers and given to local hospitals, so the staff will have something lovely to offer a grieving family, many of whom are not prepared for the tragedy of infant loss. The goal is to help a family through something unimaginable and offer love and support in any way possible.
What makes these super special gowns even more special is that they are usually made from donated wedding dresses, which are carefully deconstructed and refashioned into beautiful little gowns.
There are several official Angel Gowns groups around the U.S. I am not affiliated with any of them officially, though I am part of the support group on Facebook run by 7 Pines Design, who developed the pattern most of my gowns are made from.
The dress here is my first attempt, made from my oldest daughter's donated childhood dress. As of now, I have donated around 20 gowns made from four different wedding dresses and it has been incredibly satisfying. I will continue to update the gallery as I go, or visit my Instagram at Utah_Angel_Gowns to see more.
